About the BD-CMM®

Business Development (BD) is the lifeblood of all business entities. It is arguably the primary determinant of growth, profitability, customer satisfaction, and long-term shareholder value. As with every other human endeavour, a higher level of BD performance results from an orchestrated, team-based approach that leverages higher maturity, more sophisticated methods, and industry best practices.

Version 2.02 of the Capability Maturity Model® for Business Development (BD-CMM) codifies established industry best practices in Business Development into a framework that supports maturity growth through well defined, proven growth paths.

 

Version 2.0 of the Capability Maturity Model® for Business Development (BD-CMM V2.0) was developed during the period from August 2012 through May 2013 by Paul Deighton and Howard Nutt, as a major revision to the original model (Version 1.0) released in 2004. This model reflects significant, world-wide operational experience, lessons learned, and research studies since 2004.

The model may be used freely by organizations for internal, non-commercial purposes, but all other uses are restricted by copyright and require licensing from the Business Winning Institute.
