Certification
In the U.S. Shipley University offers two types of certification:
- Basic – Completion of 10 learning units from Shipley courses or equivalent courses (6 core units in capture, proposal management, and proposal development/writing; plus 4 elective units)
- Advanced – Demonstrated expertise in a specific business development area such as “Capture Management”

Accreditation
As the first global Approved Training Organization (ATO) through the Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP), Shipley offers coaching sessions for business development professionals seeking accreditation from APMP.
Coaching sessions for preparation for the Foundation Level APMP Accreditation exam are provided by Shipley in three formats:
- Online, self-paced training (e-learning) – This option allows you to learn at your own pace wherever you have internet access. The course includes a sample exam and access to the study guide with all necessary reference material. Click here for more online learning information.
- Live, classroom coaching – As an Approved Training Organization, Shipley can come to your company’s location to conduct a coaching session and administer the Foundation Level exam.
- Webinars for distance learning – Shipley can conduct live, real-time webinars for your employees across the globe to help prepare professionals for the Foundation Level exam.
